Reactoonz from Play'n GO was released in October 2017, representing the anticipated sequel to the smash-hit Energoonz from 2013.
The playing area of Reactoonz is a 7×7 (reels x rows) grid where horizontal and/or vertical clusters of 5 or more identical symbols create winning combinations. Watch out for Gargantoon and Giantoonz characters when playing for the chance to win up to 91,406 coins!
Loveable cartoon alien theme
High volatility with 91,406 coins max payout and 96.51% RTP
Highlights include cluster pays, Quantum Leap Bonus, Gargantoon (wilds) Feature and Giantoonz (2x win multiplier)
Playful, cartoon-style artwork, animation and amusing audio effects
Reactoonz uses a total of 8 regular-paying symbols divided equally into high-paying (two-eyed alien heads) and low-paying (one-eyed alien heads). It would seem that in this parallel universe, aliens have no need for bodies as they hover in their grid position. A (sometimes snoring) giant Gargantoon floats to the grid's right and the Quantum Leap charge meter to the grid's left. There is never a dull moment with audio effects that are as much energetic as they are amusing.
This is a cascading slot where winning symbols are removed and replaced by new ones, leading to the next cascade. Cascades are free, and a round only ends when there are no further cascades. An exciting twist to this concept is the addition of the Quantum Leap meter. All winning symbols during cascades are collected and used to charge the 5-level meter. It takes 25 aliens to charge a level, and it's possible to unlock five in total. Helping to build suspense, these features are queued until the end of the cascades.
The first bonus feature is the Implosion Feature that transforms 3-6 random symbols into wilds while destroying all adjacent symbols. The Incision Feature places a wild in the grid's centre while slicing two diagonal lines to produce an identical alien across them. The Demolition Feature destroys all the one-eyed aliens. The Alteration Feature selects a random one-eyed alien and turns all instances into another symbol. While the order of the first four features is random, the final one is always the addition of the 3x3 wild (Gargantoon). It divides on each cascade into two 2×2 wilds, then 9 individual wilds.
On any losing spin, a Gargantoon may add 4-8 wilds on the playing area. A very unusual 'toon' is called the Giantoonz. It's created with four identical symbols stacked in a square shape. This applies a 2x multiplier to any winning cluster that it participates in. Finally, on each spin, a one-eyed alien is randomly designated as the fluctuating symbol. If a fluctuating symbol forms a winning cluster, then 2 wilds are left behind.
Reactoonz has an RTP of 96.51%, which is pretty reasonable. Keep in mind that this is a high volatility slot, making larger payouts harder to come by. When they do happen, they can deliver significant prizes.
Like all other online slots, Play'n GO knew that it had a winner when it released Energoonz, which is why it returned with Reactoonz slot a few years later. The sequel does not disappoint with outlandish audiovisuals and innovative features that are out of this world.
